| Abstract: | MyPERLS is a web-based computer-aided system to analyse the personality traits and leadership styles of users based on established personality and leadership theories. It can be used within organizations who wish to identify their worker’s potential and fully utilise the invaluable human resources. MyPERLS allows the users to take personality test and leadership test to find out the personality traits and leadership styles that they have. Search function is provided for the users to look for other users based on a number
of criteria, including personality traits and leadership styles. The system has
a rank and department feature which enables an organization to categorise their users. The feature also sets access permission for certain users to view other users’ profile based on their ranks and departments. The administrator of the system is able to manage the ranks and departments, manage the users of the system, view feedbacks from the users and view major events occurred in the system. The development of MyPERLS is based on prototyping methodology. MyPERLS is built using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 within Microsoft Windows XP operating system. It uses
ASP.NET 2.0 with AJAX technology. The programming language used is Visual Basic 2005, and the internet browser used to view the website during development is Internet Explorer 6. MyPERLS is developed in order to help the users to know themselves better and enables them to select the right person and the right job to utilise the strengths and potentials of the worker. |
