| Abstract: | Dyslexia is a specific learning disabilities that is neurogical in origin. Having to
read, spell and write are essential for students to enable them to benefit fully
from their schooling. Without mastering these skills, the student frequently
develops feelings of low self-esteem, lack of confidence, accompanied by poor
motivation and unable to participate fully in, or benefit from, the day to day
activities of their class. Dyslexic students frequently have good general ability
yet many fail to master the skill of reading, spelling and writing.
This research examines the characteristics of dyslexic students and how
multimedia can help this student to learn effectively in order to cope out with
normal students. It considers how computer technology can be used to counteract some of their weaknesses and enable them to take more control over their learning. The use of computer technology for learning purposes is
needed to replace the traditional learning methods. In this research, a browser based software called e-Dyslexic will be
implemented. It is an interactive learning system that uses multisensory teaching approach to help the dyslexic students. Students will learn through using more than one sense. The use of multisensory method will enhances the learning process of the dyslexic students as they need many ways to reinforce the same skill. |
