| Abstract: | The thesis explores options available to encourage and help for Waste-to-Energy plan in China.
Research includes a review of the Chinese market to identify a range of potential business opportunities for international firms. By reviewing the studies conducted on Waste to Energy (WTE) industry and opportunities of renewable energy author has chosen five variables affecting
the business opportunities of WTE industry in China. The variables are: Tax Incentives, Carbon Credit, High Economic Growth, Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) resources and demanding of Energy in China.
The purpose of this research was to determine market opportunities for Waste-to Energy (WTE) industry in China because of high Energy rates, government subsidies and high rebate incentives based on a field study and use of SPSS software. Primary data was collected at the research,
using a questionnaire survey method and majority of respondent are Malaysian staffs of the renewable energy companies who most of them share similar demographics.
The implications of these findings are discussed in detail at the conclusion of this study. Based on the research findings, four of these variables namely tax incentives; carbon credit, high
economic growth and energy demand are affecting the business opportunities for foreign WTE firms according to related hypotheses. In addition, suggestions for future research are mentioned
and address areas of study, which is further studies are necessary and different variables and combinations of variables can be employed to further investigate the business opportunities for foreign WTE firms. |
