Alert fusion in intrusion detection system

Abstract

Nowadays, with the growing of technology applied to the online services such as banking transaction, e-commerce sites as well as other critical network environment such as private corporate industries and government body it is understandably for them to have a top security measure deployed on their system. Customarily they will hire expert personnel to monitor and secured their network and usually those security analysts will rely on an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) that had been installed to monitor their network. However having an IDS doesn’t promised you a very reliable result as the number of alert produced by an IDS is very high, most of them being false positive.
