| Abstract: | The Personal Financial Planner System for Malaysian is a web-based system which consists of cash flow management, investment planning and taxation planning, the three main sub-systems in the system. In a group of three, each student was in charge of developing a subsystem and this document will only focus on the cash flow management sub-system.
The aim of the Personal Financial Planner System for Malaysian is to provide financial
knowledge and assistance to users in financial planning. The purpose of the cash flow management sub-system included in this system is to improve the users’ ability of managing their personal cash flow by storing their cash flow record systematically and visualize their financial condition.
The Personal Financial Planner System for Malaysian provides information on the three
main financial aspects (cash flow management, investment planning and taxation planning) to help users to gain more knowledge in these respective fields. In the cash flow management subsystem, it allows users to keep their cash flow records and set up their goal so that their records
can be managed. Then the analysis report of these records is reviewed to visualize their financial condition. Furthermore, calculators such as car loan calculator, home loan calculator and basic cash inflow and outflow calculators are included in the system to provide the convenience to the
users based on their needs. Besides, a self-test assessment regarding to the cash flow
management is also included in the system to let users evaluate themselves on their cash flow management skills. On the other hand, the cash flow management sub-system also provides some administrative functions such as to allow administrators to manage the information and the self-test assessment question set posted in the web site.
The development of the Personal Financial Planner System for Malaysian is based on
the spiral model software development lifecycle. It is built using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 under Microsoft Windows XP operating system. The system is developed using the ASP.NET 2.0 and AJAX technology while the programming language used to develop the system is C#.
The Personal Financial Planner System for Malaysian is developed in order to help users
to gain more financial knowledge and guide users in their financial planning to achieve a better living lifestyle. |
